Hair Maintenance & Aftercare
Hair extensions require ongoing maintenance and care to protect the integrity of both your natural hair and that of the extensions. It is important that you consider the maintenance costs as well as the initial outlay before deciding on hair extensions. It is recommended that you wait at least 2 or 3 days before washing your extensions after they have been fitted. I also tell many of my clients to try to reduce the amount of times you wash your hair to approximately twice a week, to give your extensions the chance to rest. The aftercare tips and advice that I give increase the longevity of the hair if followed correctly. Using a salon standard conditioner and shampoo is recommended and I can also supply you with a tangle teaser brush to reduce knots if required.
Maintenance appointments are also recommended, roughly 4-6 weeks after they have been fitted. This gives me the opportunity to see how well your extensions are taking to your natural hair and give advice about the maintenance. I cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your extensions or natural hair - it is the sole responsibility of the individual to take care of the hair.
Whilst you can continue to style both your hair and extensions as you usually would - whether this is curling, straightening or crimping. It's important to remember that high temperatures can cause colour fading and discolouration in both the extensions and your natural hair. I do not offer any refunds or replacements due to general wear and tear and will only replace if the fault is with the manufacture of the hair extensions themselves. I also recommend that you book an appointment with myself when the time comes to remove or replace your extensions - I only charge a small fee for removals.
